Speaker Series: “Finish the Marathon with Your Soul Intact”

“Finish the Marathon with Your Soul Intact”
with Gloria Montano

For most of us, our working lives may very well extend to 65. If you graduate post-secondary at 22 and start working right away, that’s a whopping 43 years! How can anyone plan that far ahead and how can you finish with your soul intact? Fueled by over 35 years of experience, Gloria Montano will present a framework to help you pace yourself through a successful career life. In this talk, Gloria will take us on a personal journey that crossed disciplines, areas of inquiry, and even literal borders.

About the Speaker

After completing a BSEE, Gloria Montano worked in a variety of technical and management positions in the Silicon Valley. She came to NL in 2006 to earn a Master of Education degree and worked in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University. Now post-salary, Gloria is always eager to broaden discussion on the role women play in the identification, development and distribution of technology-based solutions, and uses her experience and skills for the benefit of non-profit and volunteer organizations. Gloria is Immediate Past President of WISE NL, a national Past President of the Society of Women Engineers in the US, and has served on the Boards of several organizations.
