The Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd. (HMDC) will support WISE SSEP 2015 through sponsorship of 16 student placements. This funding will be distributed to placements across Newfoundland and Labrador, allowing students to participate in the program from rural and urban areas. SSEP 2015 has potential placements in St. John’s and surrounding areas, St. Alban’s, Indian Bay, Corner Brook, Norris Point, Happy Valley Goose Bay and Port Hope Simpson. Hibernia has supported WISE NL since 2011, and has recognized the impact of WISE SSEP provincially on encouraging young women to pursue careers in science and engineering fields. Hibernia’s support of WISE SSEP provides a beneficial opportunity to bring awareness to the importance of increasing diversity in the oil and gas industry, particularly offshore.
