Open positions – 2022 WISE NL Board

Interested in giving back or gaining Board experience? Consider joining the WISE NL Team!

WISE NL is seeking candidates for the 2022 Board of Directors. We are specifically looking to fill five open positions on our volunteer operational board – Vice President, Treasurer and three Directors.

Founded in 1988 and incorporated in Newfoundland & Labrador, WISE NL is a non-profit volunteer-based organization that works to increase the participation of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers. We envision a province where women are routinely supported in their discovery of and success in STEM, and where decision makers at every level of the economy and society value the experience and perspective of technical women.

Overall Board Expectations

  • Understand and support the objectives of WISE NL.
  • Be a WISE NL member in good standing at the time of nomination.
  • Be committed to ensuring that current and new WISE NL programs continue to serve our constituents and stakeholders.
  • Participate in Board meetings, training sessions, and special meetings as required.
  • Attend and promote WISE NL activities.

Nomination decisions will be communicated by November 2, 2021. Final nominees to the Board will be presented for election at the Annual General Meeting tentatively scheduled for November 10, 2021. The one-year Board term begins January 1, 2022.
