December 6 Vigil

All members and supporters of WISE NL are encouraged to attend this very important annual event.

  • Tuesday, December 6, 2022
  • 6:00 pm -7:00 pm
  • EN 2006, SJ Carew Building, MUN

WISE NL remembers and honours the 12 engineering students, the nursing student and the administrative staffer who were slain on December 6, 1989 in Montreal. We encourage women throughout the province to consider the broad range of career choices in science and engineering and to seek a place at the table where decisions are made.

Since 1990, our Student Summer Employment Program – in collaboration with partners and sponsors – has placed over 1000 students from across the province into technical positions in science and engineering.  We specifically dedicate that program in memory of Barbara Daigneault who was a 22 year old student about to graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering.
